MD bill re expanding search, contact, reunion
services to sibs of adopted persons .
From Linda Clausen, CUB co-ordinator for D.C. Area In
Maryland we have had the intermediary system in place for
a few years now and it has helped many individuals, including
some siblings. We have been trying to get this part passed
for 3 years. If anyone wishes to write letters of support,
below is a note I sent on to my CUB group, which I have copied
to you all.
> BILL 232: allows siblings of adoptees to search. Synopsis:
Expanding the adoption search, contact, and reunion services
program within the Social Services Administration to include
services to siblings of adopted individuals; authorizing a
sibling of an adopted individual to apply to receive adoption
search, contact, and reunion services; etc.

and this will lead you to the full bill):
This sibling bill, or one similar to it was brought
to the legislature in 2001 and 2002. 2003 was skipped, so
now there are many new people and the hope is that it will
pass.
SO, PLEASE write in support. You can fax or email.
